Zyrtec (cetirizine) and allergy: If eyes itch due to allergies, over the counter antihistamines like zyrtec (cetirizine) may help. Eyes can also be itchy due to eczema or even conjunctivitis, a viral or bacterial infection of the eyes. In that case the whites of the eyes will be red and eyes will feel sticky in the morning when you wake up. If the itching is not relieved by an antihistamine, i suggest a visit to your doctor.

Allergies!: Zyrtec (cetirizine) can help, but it can also make some people drowsy. You can also try preservative free artificial tears, cool compresses (wash cloth with cold water), and any of the over the counter allergy eye drops. If that does not help, see an eye md for prescription eye drops.
