Antacids: It takes a while for this to work. Take an antacid, a liquid antacid my help coat your esophagus. Do not take any pill within 30 minutes of taking a dose or for an hour after a dose of it. Generic liquid antacids can taste truly hideous. This is one time when Brand Names are definitely better.

I take Nexium 40 mg OTC twice daily. It works pretty well, but for 3 months I wake from sleep choking with the taste of acid vomit coming from my nose and mouth onto my pillow, and also I've inhaled the vomit and my lungs burn. Is this dangerous?
