Depends!: This depends on the location and size of the hemorrhage, other problems of the patient, whether or not there are complications of the surgery and just plain luck. There are no guarantees in medicine, or in much of anything else, except "death and taxes." Discuss this with the doctor. May be guarded.: A ruptured aneurysm causing a subarachnoid hemorrhage can be deadly. 50% of victims never reach hospital alive, and 60% may not survive the subsequent year. Even with terrific neurosurgery, our statistics have not really improved over the years.
