What is a subarachnoid hemorrhage?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Dangerous hemorrhage: Subaracnoid hemorrhages usually occur from rupture of aneurysms. Aneurysms are caused by defects in the vessel wall producing outpouching of the wall. With rupture of the aneuysm, patients complain of the worst headache of their life. The headache can rapidly progress to include altered consciousness, weakness or unresponsiveness. A percentage of patients never survive to reach medical care.
