ANXIETY IS RARE: Omeprazole is usually well tolerated. Psychiatric side effects are uncommon. However, depression is more common with it psychiatrically. Have you ever experience anxiety in the past? Have you had depression now or in the past? If the anxiety is not alleviated within two weeks, I suggest consulting first a gastroenterologist, and also a psychiatrist for further evaluation. It is likely to go away
