Swelling near ankle : With swelling near you ankle or Achilles tendon it is best to rest until it is evaluated by a physician. This is most likely related to your exercise routine but please have it checked to prevent any further damage.

Probably not: Sprains and strains are invariably accompanied by pain. Painless swelling can have many causes . If it is exercise induced it could be a nearby joint capsule, tendon sheath enlarging. Some people also have some small defects in the fascia (tissue that forms compartments in the leg) and muscle can push through these areas during exercise. Bottom line, if it is not painful I would not worry. Dr. R
