Pleuritic pain: Pain that is aggravated by deep breathing is referred to as pleuritic pain, as it often arises from inflammation of the lining of the lung, which is called the pleura. Inflammation of the pleura can be caused by many different things. Since some of these are serious, you should be evaluated to find the cause.
