The transverse ligament of atlas appears deficient... this is what is stated on cervical spine mri ?

Why did you need..: .. a cervical spine MRI? Sometimes findings on MRI may or may not mean something is actually wrong, or cause symptoms (like pain, swelling, etc.) is caused by it. The Atlas is the first vertebra bone on the cervical spine (called C1) and functions together with the Axis (C2) to allow the head to nod and rotate. The transverse ligament can have normal wear and tear. It is best to see a spine doc.
