Resistant Staph: Recurrent staph infections, both MERSA and MSSA, are a growing problem and not easy to prevent. Prevention often consists of taking antibiotics for 1-2 weeks + ointment for nose and special shower or bath twice a week. Family members also need Rx if they are carrying staph. Rx can be successful in the short term but by 6 months patients are often recolonized by staph again> http://wb.md/1O61nlf
