Xerostomia: You should have a salivary flow test completed by your dentist. It only takes a few minutes. When you are missing your teeth your saliva rate can appear to be decreased. You can also dry rinsing with Biotene saliva substitute.

Dry mouth: Dry mouth can be caused by many medications and can be difficult to trust. Keep yourself well hydrates with water. Avoid mouthwashes with alcohol in them. There are OTC products like Biotene or xylimelts that can provide some relief. Your dentist can recommend other products, either OTC or prescription that can help.

Dry mouth: There are many causes of dry mouth, certain medications, hormonal changes, inadequate fluid intake, and certain medical conditions being the most common. This needs to be discussed first with your own dentist and also with you primary care physician. There are a few excellent Biotene products that help but finding the cause of the dryness and then addressing that is the best method.
