Cystic acne: You may be describing cystic acne (http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/acne/multimedia/cystic-acne/img-20006234) for which isotretinoin (http://www.drugs.com/mtm/isotretinoin.html) does wonders. However, it is also Category X as it is teratogenic (can cause congenital/birth defects) so women of child bearing age must use 2 forms of contraception (birth control) while taking this drug.
