A 22-year-old female asked:

Hello, i've had spotting for two weeks now. it began a week after my last period ended. is this normal? it's enough for pantyliners and the blood is darker and has more of an odor than usual.

Needs testing: Irregular periods are one of the most common problems Obgyns treat. If this is a one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections, polyps and hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do a home pregnancy test. Vaginal odor may signal an infection.
