Not unless necessary: I would not recommend having an appendectomy unless you are having symptoms consistent with appendicitis. Any surgery that you have could generate more scar tissue, which you should try to avoid. If your surgeon feels that your appendix is causing symptoms, then you obviously don't have much choice, but avoid it if you can. Good luck.
