See Orthopedist: See an orthopedic surgeon. Baker's cyst can sometimes be drained in office procedure. Ortho can best advise.

Possibly surgery: A baker's cyst is swelling behind the knee that usually indicates a tear of a meniscus cartilage. The can come and go in size and symptoms. Usually an intra-articular injection of cortizone (hydrocortisone) helps, along with nsaid's and rest. If it is still bothersome, arthroscopic surgery may be necesssary to treat the cause. Rarely is the cyst itself removed. Good luck!
