A member asked:

What happens to a bakers cyst sack once it ruptures and where does it go? does it go away completely?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Baker's Cyst: A Baker's cyst is a fluid-filled cyst that causes a bulge and a feeling of tightness behind your knee. A Baker's cyst can often rupture (burst), resulting in fluid leaking down into your calf. This causes a sharp pain in your calf which becomes red, swollen and tight. The fluid will gradually be reabsorbed into the body within a few weeks.
