Knee replacement: 6 months after total knee replacement, swelling should be resolved. If it persists, there are several possibilities, including infection, irritation from the components, scar tissue formation, or instability of the knee. Recommend thorough evaluation of the knee by your surgeon, to include detailed physical exam of knee, x-rays, infection lab tests, and possible CT scan.
