Unusual: I would have this evaluated by an ophthalmologist or oculo plastic specialist. Could be simple lid swelling or even thyroid eye disease.

Exophthalmos: There could be many reasons. You could have thyroid condition that causes the fat and muscles around the eye to thicken, causing the eye to be pushed forward and the eyelids opening more. May be tumor behind the eye (most likely not thought). This may be normal for you, or may be the other eye is drooping a little instead of one opening more.
