Acne medications: If after a certain amount of time, the face burns after application of acne medications, it may be either an allergic or an irritant reaction to the medication. An allergic reaction means you can't use the medicine anymore as the reaction will only get stronger. An irritant reaction may be due to overdrying and may just require less frequent application of the med after stopping it for a week.
