You "Shun't" Wait: Anyone with a shunt in their brain should be concerned if they get a headache,unless they've had a very similar headache in the past that was determined to be safe after careful exam & testing.Anything else should be taken seriously & steps taken to investigate the situation if the headache persists more than a few hours,is not relieved by normal doses of Tylenol, (acetaminophen) Motrin or continues to get worse.

Possibly: If you have had problems with your shunt in the past and it feels like this then you should get it evaluated. Headaches with shunt patients are concerning for potential infections, malfunctions, or blockages.
