It is possible: that a liver biopsy will be in your future if your elevated ALT is not explained...be prepared for a LOT of QUESTIONS ASKED!!!!(maybe not so much answered) It takes some "detective work" sometimes when a single lab test is abnormal.....(PS the mucosal irregularity may indicate that a GALLSTONE was passed and that may be the ANSWER to your "mystery!!"
