That's orthostasis: The positional vertigo you describe is called orthoststic hypotension. When going from sitting to standing, there is a transient drop in blood pressure as gravity pulls the blood down. To compensate, blood vessels squeeze and your heart beats a little harder/faster. Once the flow to your brain normalizes it resolves. Drink lots of water and transition slowly. See your doc if passing out.
