A member asked:

Hello doctor, my son is 8 years old. just now i came to know that he is tested positive in ns1. what does this mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Dengue positive: NS 1 antigen is positive in patient's with high fever due to Dengue fever. The sensitivity of dengue NS1 antigen is approximately 100%. So the test suggests that the child has Dengue fever. The child should be seen by a doctor and a plan of action to daily or alternate day CBC should be instituted to detect impending decrease of platelets which can cause bleeding from any orifice.
