Wound pain: Draining a hemorrhoid is a surgical procedure that creates a wound. Ibuprofen (adult dose is 400 - 600 mg every 6 hours) is a good first medication. Wet a wash cloth, put in the freezer until cold, apply to wound to reduce bleeding and inflammation. Re-apply cold every hour. Avoid sitting and bearing down. ADD Tylenol (acetaminophen) 650 mg every 6 hours if Adult. Preparation H applied topically.

Tylenol (acetaminophen) : Use extra strength Tylenol (acetaminophen) (500 mg) at breakfast, lunch, dinner and bed time for pain control. Also use stool softeners and try a sitz bath to help relieve discomfort.
