Whenever i have kidney pains (both sides) i also feel pain in my spine when i lay down. are the kidneys and spine related?

Kidneys: I would be doubtful that you get pain from both kidneys and most back discomfort comes from musculoskeletal structures in the spinal and paraspinal areas which are independent of the kidneys. Classically spinal and muscular discomfort is affected greatly by motions of the spine whereas most kidney pain,including stones are not as a rule. Your physician can advise you better,however.
