A member asked:

I just got blood results and my alt is 46 and ast is 36 are these considered dangerously high? if so what can i do to bring them down?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not dangerous: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, Your ALT is slightly elevated. If you drink alcohol, stop entirely and repeat the test in 3-6 months. If you are on any medication, that may also affect this test. Your levels are not in any way dangerous. See this site for info. http://www.mayoclinic.org/tests-procedures/liver-function-tests/basics/definition/PRC-20012602
