Not uncommon: It is very common for women to develop a Candida vaginitis due to taking antibiotics. The vagina is colonized by millions of bacteria of different species and also by Candida. These microbes make up the normal "flora" (microbiome) of the vagina. Antibiotics often upset the normal balance between bacteria and Candida(yeast) by killing some of the normal bacteria allowing the yeast to overgrow.
