No alcohol : Methotrexate can be hard on the liver and its potential harms is augmented by alcohol. Talk to your doctor about alternatives but don't mix alcohol and methotrexate. Best wishes.

MTX and alcohol: You only have one liver and the recommendation is to not drink alcohol while taking MTX. Your liver has to metabolize the methotrexate and we do not want to add any strain on it by making it metabolize alcohol as well
