Depends: In infancy it can lead to a progressive cough that is so bad the infant strokes out and can die. It is most dangerous to infants in the first 6 months. In adults, it just produces a chronic "100 days "cough. Kids Kids in the middle have variable effect.Untreated disease also leads to significant transfer to those within the persons contacts.Susceptable persons will get and pass disease.
