Don't drink: I don't think the medifast is the issue. You should drink less when going for drug test if you are having dilute specimens.

Likely not the diet: Medifast is a low cal/low carb diet and would not result in diluting your urine. If you have been drinking excessive amounts of water, this could affect some findings like the specific gravity. The concern with diluted urine is that i is a red flag that it has been tampered with. Best time to due the urine test would be first in the am.
