No: Drinking alcohol is not necessary for life. This is a sign, from wherever or whomever, but it's a sign that says stay away from alcoholic drinks. Life will be just as fine without alcohol, because a person can make it so.

No: No - you are going to continue to be at high risk for reoccurrence of pancreatitis. The more episodes you have, the more severe they are and the more compromised your body will be.
