No: No risk, but don't assume it won't prevent pregnancy. The FDA labeling is for three years of efficacy but all long acting contraceptives last longer than the labeling. All evidence suggests that the 5 year mirena (levonorgestrel) lasts at least 9 years, and probably lasts forever
