A member asked:

I tested negative for hiv with architect combo. but in the result it says only antibodies but not p24 ag. i thought it checks for ag/ab at sametime. is it possible to check only for ab with architect?

It tests for both: The Architect® combo test checks for both HIV antibody and p24 antigen. If your result is reported as negative, neither antibody nor antigen was detected. I suspect you have misinterpreted the wording of the test result. If in doubt, check with the doctor who ordered the test, or the laboratory where it was done.
