Sounds: Sounds in the back of your skull at the top of your neck are probably ligaments attached to your vertebrae which move and slide. Crackles within the ear canal could be wax against the ear drum and in the ear canal or movements if the actual ear drum parts produced by small muscle contractions within the ear canal.
