A member asked:

I have a 12 year old son who takes vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) 60 mg a day. he's been on it 3 years. his blood pressure is now high. should vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) be a first suspect?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possible: Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) does have the potential to cause blood pressure elevation. You should talk to the prescribing physician to discuss a trial off the med to see if BP changes. Does your child have weight issues? Strong family history of BP issues? Keep a BP diary at home as sometimes readings in the office are high due to anxiety. http://www.webmd.com/drugs/2/drug-148324/vyvanse-oral/details
