PFAPA tx & px: Several treatments seem to have benefits: single dose of Prednisone at onset of each fever episode usually ends fever w/i hrs (but some experience more frequent episodes); Colchicine may be used in latter cases. Removal of tonsils & adenoids has proven effective in many. Pfapa resolves with age & does not lead to more severe illnesses.
