Swallow most: Nasal drainage from allergies or infections in the nasal cavity produces thick fluid.most of this flows downhill into your throat. You can cough it out, aspirate in into your lungs (that's bad) or you can swallow into the stomach where most, not all, virus' and bacteria die.you can blow this fluid out but most gets swallowed.
