Styes: This can be very frustrating. It sounds like you are doing all you can. There are some styes that need to be removed by the eye surgeon an ophthalmologist. If there is also an infection this may take oral medicine along with antibiotic drops.

Scar tissue: If it is no longer sore to touch, etc you have scar tissue that regresses very slowly unless treated with topical or injected steroids. Surgery is also an option if it is large.
