21: American college of obstetricians and gynecologists (acog) recommend that women have their first pap test at age 21. Previous guidelines stated that it be done 3 years after intercourse. This is not always the rule, women who have other factors such as trauma, being immunocompromised and many others have a different time table of being checked. Please contact your doctor to see what fits you best.

Age 21: Current recommendations from the american college of obstetrics and gynecology is for women to have their initial annual exam and pap smear at the age of 21. They should then have an annual exam every year, however repeat pap smears may be spaced from 1 to 3 years apart - depending on the result of the first pap smear., .
