21: American college of obstetricians and gynecologists (acog) recommend that women have their first pap test at age 21. Previous guidelines stated that it be done 3 years after intercourse. This is not always the rule, women who have other factors such as trauma, being immunocompromised and many others have a different time table of being checked.
