A member asked:

Had impacted earwax now most is gone but feels like a bit left ... is it dangerous to plug in headphones into my ear any risk of tinnitus ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Always a risk: if hearing damage with earphones if the volume is to high. Hearing damage leads to tinnitus, which is the brains attempt to compensate for the frequencies you can no longer hear. The wax in your ear will have no bearing on damage from the headphones. Keep the sound level reasonable and you should be fine.
