Why does daytrana patch contain 27.5 mg if it dispenses 1.1 mg an hour and shouldn't be required to wear longer than 9 hours?

Sustained release: This drug patch was designed for 12 hours of use in the daytime. The patch will still have an effect up to 2 hours after it is removed. The reason for 12 hrs only is to avoid treating with a stimulant into the evening, which could cause insomnia, and prevent getting a good night's sleep
