Ask the prescriber!: It should not be a problem - they are often given together but you need to get instructions specific to you. There is a chance of more severe side effects but respiratory problems are not likely. Call NOW for clear instructions and follow them. Best wishes!

No need to separate: There is no need to separate these two medications and no concern for respiratory depression depression with either of these medications. However, taking them together does increase the potential for drowsiness, so be very careful while driving, biking, or operating heavy machinery - when starting to take them both or after a dosage change of either one until you know how much the regimen affects
