Tender rib cage: Could be costochondritis, or any inflammation of the ribs where they have muscle insertion or from cough.. May also be due to gastritis reflux H pylori( tx w/ ranitidine, abx if needed). If not allergic try motrin 2 tabs 2 times a day x 7 and see if helps .Sometimes i have given zithromax because they have an associated cold/ cough that may be mycoplasma which can cause pains .f/u w/ doc
