Be seen: I would be seen to make sure it is accurately diagnosed. The three most common causes would be a bakers cyst in the knee, a variant of a sciatica, or a blood clot. Because a blood clot is potentially life threatening. You should be seen to have this ruled out as it can definitely cause what you are describing.
