I started taking metformin and have productive cough and sinusitis. can it be caused by metformin? should i continue taking it or stop the medicine?

Not a side effect: cough and sinus issues are not side effects of metformin; however, if this is a new medicine for you, it could be signs of a low grade allergic response. Please call your PCP.
