Not emergency but...: I would NOT take her to the emergency room as this is not an emergency. She almost certainly has a viral illness that will go away on its own. No problem if doesn't eat well for a few days as long as she has adequate fluids- try chicken or vegetable soup. Fever is how the body fights infection so I advise not giving Tylenol (acetaminophen) or other meds to lower fever. If not improving soon see her regular doc.

Hello. I am a 37 year old woman. A few days ago I found a swollen bump under my skin on my left cheek near my ear. Over the next three days it spread to behind my ear and down my neck. It seems to be several swollen bumps that are connected and are painful to the touch. My ear doesnt hurt, just the bumps. Otherwise I am a little stuffed up and tired but I feel fine.
