Neonatal herpes...: ...i.e. infection of newborns with herpes, is easy to prevent when either or both parents has HSV2. You can be tested to see if you already have it or are susceptible, and prevention usually is effective. Babies catch it only from active infection at delivery. Whether or not you are tested, tell the obstetrician so s/he can be on the lookout for a herpes outbreak as the delivery date approaches.
