Not "normal": 40-52 day cycles are most likely anovulatory. Irregular bleeding is not uncommon when a patient is not ovulating. Bleeding after intercourse can be associated with cervical cancer, polyps, trauma, and/or infections. It is also associated with anovulation. An exam would certainly help exclude anything worrisome.
