A member asked:

What medicine can i take for a sore throat while pregnant ? is it okay for me to gargle salt water ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Gargling with salt water is fine. Most cough drops are fine as is Tylenol (acetaminophen) in appropriate doses. If you are running a fever or the sore throat doesn't improve pretty rapidly, you need to see your doctor. While most sore throats are viral and not helped by antibiotics, it is possible that you may need medication. Hope this helps and you feel better fast.
