Depends on extent: Persistent benign nodes may be less than 3 mos. That said, some tumor lymphadenopathy may be even less and so to err on the side of caution, some docs may agree to biopsy, not necessarily using fine needle asp(FNA), unless with flow cytometry, since sampling error may be high.If nodes are multiple, bilateral, with no associated sources of infection, then the right decision is to biopsy.
