See dentist: Go to the DDS and get a definitive diagnosis and get it treated. Long term use of any pain medication will not help if the etiology of the problem is not treated.

Temporary Relief: Advil (ibuprofen) or other pain medications are OK for temporary relief. They just mask the symptoms of the problem and only help as long as you are taking them and do nothing to eliminate the source of the toothache. My advice is to see a dentist ASAP.

Talk to your dentist: Different healthcare professionals will have different advice about dose and length of therapy about over-the-counter use of Advil, (ibuprofen) but what it comes down to is what’s causing this pain and why it isn’t going away. There isn’t getting around the fact that two weeks of tooth pain isn’t normal, and the safest bet is to have a trained professional evaluate it.

Yes, but: Yes, but long term Advil (ibuprofen) can cause liver problems. Plus, problem not solved. See DDS ASAP.
